Inlays and Onlays

Partial Crowns

Inlays and onlays are often referred to as partial crowns. They use the existing tooth as a base and fit the inlay or onlay onto the tooth. This is done to strengthen the tooth, restore its shape, and prevent further damage.

The Process

After numbing the tooth, the decayed, fractured of failing restoration is  removed. A scan of the tooth and surrounding teeth is taken and sent electronically to our in office milling unit. A inlay or onlay is milled from a porcelain block, and then cemented in. The result is re-establishing ideal form and function for the tooth in a conservative way.
